Dr. Jason LoweDr. Jason W. Lowe began his practice of obstetrics and gynecology in 2003 in Canton, and expanded his practice to Peoria, joining Women’s Health Institute in 2008.  Dr. Lowe received a B.A. in Biology at Monmouth College and earned his M.D. degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Peoria, Illinois.  He completed his OB/GYN residency training at Exempla Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver, Colorado, where he was Chief Resident in Obstetrics and Gynecology.  He has received specialized training in laparoscopic and urogynecologic  surgery.

 

Dr. Lowe is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.  He is currently Vice-Chairman of the Methodist Medical Center OB/GYN department, and is an active hospitalist providing emergency OB/GYN care with Peoria Obstetrics and Gynecelogy Group.  Dr. Lowe is a Clinical Assistant Professor and Attending Physician for the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria, and enjoys teaching residents and medical students.

 

Dr. Lowe appreciates the unique bond an obstetrician develops with his patient over the course of pregnancy, culminating with birth… the great miracle of life!  His surgical philosophy embraces the saying that “less is more.”  Dr. Lowe emphasizes, “After exhausting the medical and non-surgical alternatives, some patients simply  benefit the most from surgical treatment.  Whenever possible, minimally invasive, or incision-free surgery is my preference, for its quick recovery, little down time, and excellent outcomes.”  Dr. Lowe is proud to be associated with Women’s Health Institute and Dr. Overcash, his uncle and mentor throughout his medical career, in a practice well-known for its excellence in vaginal surgery.

 

Dr. Lowe maintains privileges at Methodist Medical Center, OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Proctor Hospital, Graham Hospital in Canton, and Peoria Day Surgery Center.   He has medical offices in Peoria and Canton .  In his off-time, Dr. Lowe enjoys spending time with his two sons.  His hobbies include playing piano, guitar, and saxophone; songwriting and recording; and performing with his group, Lowe Profile.
